These shoes were a lifesaver. I have feet issues that cause me pain (plantar fasciitis & shin splits) and going up a size and getting a wide has made all the difference. I can play double headers of co-ed softball and still be able to walk to my car after. I didn't have issues with the laces but I also purposefully was careful not to be rough when tightening. I am not trying to cut off circulation so perhaps other reviewers are pulling harder than I am. The soles were very grippy, I never slipped and felt very secure in the infield and outfield, regardless of field conditions and weather. I would buy these again.
