(Update 11/18) I received the top glove on 10/11/2024 from Amazon. As you can see the laces look old, and the leather looks dry. I emailed Buckler directly about the situation, and I asked them if they could send some replacement laces since I had to use the glove. They sent a replacement glove instead and it arrived on 10/17/2024. Their only ask was that I send the glove back with the provided shipping label they sent with the glove. In my opinion, this is how a company should handle problems. It’s nice to know companies like this still exist. My favorite catcher's mitt is a Buckler one. My son loves his Buckler glove, but I'm very unhappy about this one. The problem has to do with Amazon and not the glove build or Buckler. This product sat on the shelf for a really long time. The laces are as hard as plastic, and the leather feels dry. I'm unable to bend the tied ends because they are so old and stiff. The lacing across the bridge of the webbing needs to be rehydrated somehow since it's too stiff. Leather has a shelf life, and Amazon has ignored this fact. I'm sure it's not something they would pay attention to since it doesn't come with an expiration date on the glove to be entered into their database. Unfortunately I'm unable to return this glove because I need to use it this weekend. You can't buy a Buckler glove locally and you have to order one. It's one of the most slept-on gloves for the price, and I just wish I wasn't out of time to return it. If you plan on buying one, make sure you have time to return it if you get a lemon. As far as the build quality, my only gripe with this model is in the pinky slot. The pinky loop is dry, stiff, and rubs just behind my pinky nail. I'll probably have the glove relaced to fix these issues, but now I have to incur extra costs. In the future, I would recommend just placing an order on Buckler's website so you can ensure the quality of the glove.
